Meat Boxes

Our weekly Meat Boxes provide you with a variety of fresh meat, ready for pick up or delivery. Our meat is raised by farmers right here in Manitoba. The beef is grass-fed, the pork and lamb is all pasture-raised and the chicken is all free-range. We are committed to working directly with the community raising our meat to strengthen support for small farms.

What's in the box

Every week the boxes will be different, reflecting our commitment to nose to tail butchery, and relying on the availability of product being brought to us directly by the farmers. Some examples of what could be in your box every week includes: house made sausages, spatchcocked marinated chicken, pork chops, sirloin roast stuffed with spinach and roasted peppers. All the items in your box will be fresh. Some weeks, there will be marinades included, other weeks some of our house made bacon or charcuterie. We will include recipes for items. And, as subscribers, you are welcome to call and talk to our butcher or chef about ways to prepare items.

How it works

Boxes are available in 3 sizes, and we offer 3 month subscriptions. Boxes will be available for pick up on Fridays every week and will be delivered on Saturdays between 10am-2pm. There is a $5.00 delivery fee within St. Boniface, and $10.00 fee within the city limits. With box subscriptions, you have the option of phoning us to add in any of the many great local items we stock at the butcher shop: Notre Dame Creamery butter, organic Stoney Brook milk in glass bottles, many local and Quebec cheeses, extra fresh meat items, Nature's Farm pasta or eggs, quinoa, soup mixes, locally roasted coffee... and on and on.

Subscription options

There are 2 options for ordering Meat Boxes. The first is to take out a subscription and get a discount on the weekly price. Subscriptions are 3 months long and can be paid for weekly, monthly or in one payment. The second is to pre-order your box. We will accept Meat Box orders for that week's box up until Tuesday, with the boxes being ready for pick-up on Friday. Pre-ordered boxes not part of the subscription cost more than the subscription rate.

Box A

$45/week for subscribers, or $50/week for non-subscribers.

Here's an example of what you'll find in the $45 meat box. Sample box includes:
1 lb ground beef
4 Toulouse sausages
2 pork chops
Pot Roast roulade (stuffed with roasted peppers, arugula, pesto)
200 grams house made honey ham
200 grams house made roast beef

Box B

$90/week for subscribers, or $100/week for non-subscribers.

Here's an example of what you'll find in the $90 meat box. Sample box includes:
1 whole marinated chicken (approx. 6lbs)
Marinated beef pot roast
1 lb ground beef
8 sausages (2 kinds)
500g house made bacon

Box C

$135/week for subscribers, or $150/week for non-subscribers.

Here's an example of what you'll find in the $135 meat box. Sample box includes:
4 - 9oz steaks
1 Beef roulade
1 Marinated spatchcocked chicken (approx. 5lbs)
8 pork chops
5 lbs marinated pork shoulder
